Ultrassom

The ultrasound technique is used to detect and measure internal discontinuities in materials, based on the physical principle of ultrasonic wave diffraction. The inspection is computerized, allowing for the acquisition and recording of 100% of the inspected data. The generated images are displayed in grayscale, and the weld volume is inspected in a single scan.

Applications

The ultrasound technique is highly precise in evaluating the height of discontinuities and is primarily used for inspecting butt-welded joints between plates during equipment manufacturing or periodic maintenance. It is also applied in:

  • Spheres

  • Pressure Vessels

  • Towers

  • Tanks

  • Reactors

  • Boilers

 Vantagens

  • Higher Productivity: Significantly increased efficiency compared to conventional techniques, allowing for faster inspections and optimized workflows.

  • Simultaneous Inspection: Enables inspection to be carried out alongside other assembly activities, significantly reducing project costs and execution time.

  • Greater Precision in Repairs: Provides accurate measurements of defect height, depth, and length, minimizing the need for rework and reducing overall costs.

  • Comprehensive Inspection Records: Ensures full documentation of all inspected areas, allowing for detailed analysis and future reference.

  • Enhanced Reliability and Traceability: Eliminates subjectivity associated with conventional ultrasound, providing consistent and repeatable results.

  • Defect Detection in Any Orientation: Identifies defects regardless of their alignment and precisely measures their height for accurate assessment.

  • Eliminates Radiography Risks: Removes exposure to radiation hazards, ensuring a safer inspection process for operators and the environment.

  • Remote Auditing Capability: Allows inspections to be reviewed and analyzed remotely, improving accessibility and quality control.

  • Digital and Printed Reports: Generates clear, detailed reports in both digital and printed formats for easy documentation and sharing.

  • Excellent Cost-Benefit Ratio: Combines efficiency, precision, and safety, making it a highly cost-effective solution for industrial inspections.
