Ultrasonic A/B-Scan

A-Scan Ultrasonic Testing is a widely used Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technique that provides precise measurements of material thickness and the detection of internal discontinuities. This method is based on the transmission and reflection of ultrasonic waves, which travel through the material and return signals that are displayed as amplitude versus time on a screen.

How It Works

A transducer emits high-frequency sound waves into the material. If there is a defect, such as a crack or void, part of the sound wave is reflected back to the transducer, while the remaining wave continues propagating. The received signals are displayed in a one-dimensional graph, where peaks indicate reflections from surfaces, defects, or changes in material properties.

Ultrassom B Scan: Técnica Avançada para Ensaios Não Destrutivos

B-Scan Ultrasound is an advanced ultrasonic technique used for non-destructive testing in storage tanks, pipelines, and industrial boiler equipment. Based on the phenomenon of acoustic wave reflection, this technique enables the identification of discontinuities and defects by detecting obstacles or irregularities in the propagation of sound waves.

One of the key advantages of B-Scan Ultrasound is its graphical representation of measurement results, providing an accurate thickness evaluation of the sample on a scale. Additionally, this technique can assess the cross-sectional profile of the inspected component or part, ensuring high precision and quality in testing.O Ultrassom B Scan oferece diversas vantagens significativas, incluindo:

  • Continuous Data Recording: With a built-in printer, the instrument enables real-time visualization of discontinuities through plan-view sketches.

  • Automated Data Processing: Digitalization minimizes human error, ensuring more accurate results.

  • User-Friendly Equipment: Simple and efficient operation for seamless handling.

  • Application in Pipelines with Temperature and Pressure Variations: Versatile performance under diverse operational conditions.

  • Full Surface Evaluation Without Paint Removal: Saves time and resources by eliminating unnecessary preparation.

  • Real-Time Video Image Processing: Enables dynamic and precise defect analysis.

  • Integrated A-Scan Function: Enhances accuracy in defect characterization and evaluation.
